Your Gateway to the German-Speaking Book Market: we publish your book

Welcome to the GERMAN LITERARY SOCIETY

The German-speaking book market is the second most important market in the world. It combines tradition and history, the invention of the printing press and Goethe, spanning Germany, Switzerland, and Austria with more than 100 million readers. The Frankfurt Book Fair, the largest book fair in the world, plays a key role in connecting international publishers, authors, and booksellers.

The latest trend is that more and more books are being read in English. Therefore, you have the option to publish your book with us in either English or German, with local distribution and marketing structures in place. With our offices in Berlin, Vienna, and Switzerland, we are locally present. And of course, we also showcase our books at the Frankfurt Book Fair.

Please excuse us if we sometimes use a form of "German English." We are good at being German, and that works quite well for your book.

    Information on free manuscript review:

    1. You can submit a manuscript that has already been published as a book in other countries. Or a completely new one that is to see the light of day.
    2. We publish in German or English - whichever you prefer.
    3. The minimum length should be enough for a book. Just one short story or two poems is clearly not enough. Why don't you put together a short story or poetry collection?
    4. You can send us the entire manuscript or a meaningful sample (stating the total length). An exposé is not absolutely necessary.
    5. Authors under the age of 18 need the consent of their parents - simply discuss this together before you send us your manuscript.
    6. Send your text as a file, not in the comment field.
    7. Is your file smaller than 8MB? Are you having problems uploading? Just send it to us by e-mail: Welcome@Deutsche-Literaturgesellschaft.de. Don't forget your full address for the confirmation of receipt!
    8. You can of course also send it by postal mail, but that takes a long time::

    Remember & Preserve

    For eternity

Our books are kept in the most important libraries in the world.
Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard - fireproof and protected from moisture here
preserve the most important books of our time for future generations.

    Mission

The books of the German Literary Society are made accessible for all times, so that even in 100, 200 or 300 years someone can pull your book off the shelf. Our books are held in renowned university libraries, including Oxford (UK), Harvard, Princeton, Yale (USA) and the Sorbonne (Paris).

    Reputation

The Deutsche Literaturgesellschaft publishing house stands for an exclusive mix of well-known writers, prominent contemporary figures and works by new author personalities. Its sophisticated portfolio has made the Deutsche Literaturgesellschaft into the renowned publishing house it is today.

    Tradition

Since time immemorial, every publishing personality has aspired to publish (as yet) unknown writers alongside their "crowd pullers", the famous authors. While most publishers today are only on the hunt for bestsellers and anxiously follow the mainstream, we are sticking to this old publishing tradition.

    Our passion

The production of a beautifully crafted book.

We select the best and most valuable manuscripts from the more than 400 submitted each month,
to create a beautiful book from them with passion and heart and soul.
Each work is unique and is looked after and maintained by us for years.

For the people who are important to us

    Personal author support

We accompany you personally through your book project - even after publication.
It is the encounters with authors that make our work so valuable.
