Lajos Bulkai -
As a native Hungarian, I am of course familiar with the well-known Hungarian writer Istvan Fekete. But I had never heard of these short stories by him before. They touched me deeply and I really enjoyed them.

Gábor Bayor -
The book "Mitternachtsgeläut" is a compilation of novellas by István Fekete, published in Hungarian and selected by the translator with a view to the author's conservative Christian views. István Fekete (1900-1970) is one of the most widely read authors in Hungary.
The most important thing about this book and its stories is the reflection of the author's wisdom, namely his deep humanity, his eye for the really important things in life: for love, forgiveness, understanding for others, selflessness, reconciliation, helpfulness and kindness.
If the reader looks at and reads the book from this perspective, it can lead to emotional enrichment as well as literary enjoyment.
