Tränen der Hoffnung (Fankhauser)
€14,95
With their tears, the gods have chosen seven magicians to turn the outcome of the war between the god of death Atra Morte and the magical peoples of Cyron and Loméa in their favor.
One of the chosen ones is Jane, who is torn from her normal, human life and suddenly has to save a world completely unknown to her. And as if that wasn't complicated enough, she also finds out some things about her past that really shake up her world view ...
"Darkness engulfed me, I plunged deep into it. Into the black, into the stillness, into the feather-light, into the endless silence. I slid deeper and deeper, falling and falling, quickly at first, then more slowly, as if I had resistance. Then suddenly there was a high-pitched roar. The paralyzing darkness began to groan, moan and clank, along with the vibrations. And then it was suddenly silent. For several seconds. I held my breath, but nothing actually followed. I breathed a sigh of relief to calm myself down, but it never happened."

From page 16 onwards, the book completely captivated me when Jane Cassandra Taylor takes her anger at her father out on her mother in a very nasty way. What then happens to her almost made me forget to breathe at times. The author has constructed the fantasy novel so skillfully that I almost couldn't put the book down.
The ending tastes like more and the way the story ends, I hope for a sequel.
