Zersplitterndes Imperium – Band 1 (Mathus)

At the end of the Fifth Century, Rome is divided into East and West, two child emperors sit on the two thrones of the empire, backed by powerful warlords with their own ambitions, who gather their armies to protect the empire and their own dynasties. In doing so, they increasingly rely on hired mercenary troops and foreign warrior hordes.

One of these units are the Lion Warriors of Nubia, foederati in the service of Western Rome under their commander Flacius Scipio Horatinius. He himself reports how the Imperium Romanum, the zenith of civilization, was transformed from within by civil wars, epidemics, catastrophes, lack of initiative and climatic changes into a patchwork of successor states and rival warlords.
